When it comes to buying someone a gift, there is a golden rule which should never, ever be forgotten about; choose something they will like. Because if you simply go out and buy any old thing, then the person it is for will not be overly impressed! And that is not them being ungrateful, it is you being unthoughtful!!! The bottom line is this; it is better not to buy anything at all than to get something that is totally unsuitable…
Think of it like this. If you were gift shopping for Telly Savalas, then would you get him a set of hair curlers? Surely laser hair removal treatment would be a much more viable option! And how do you think a cycling enthusiast would feel if you bought him a hydraulic car trolley jack for his birthday??? As you can imagine; it is a long and sorry list that is full of the most ridiculous possibilities…
You are probably beginning to see where I am coming from. The fact of the matter is this; giving someone an inappropriate gift can actually do more harm than good! And rather than making someone’s day you could even end up ruining it!!! So, if you really do get stuck, why not give them money or a gift voucher instead?
Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who are still completely oblivious to this…. And that is why the wrong sized sweater is such a popular gift to receive at Christmas!
